    Can't remove threat.


    I use Discord and sometimes people post prank videos that crash your discord app or browser and things like that. About a week ago, someone sent one of these prank videos and if you played it, windows defender would show a warning saying your computer has a trojan. I immediately knew it had downloaded something into the cache and Windows Defender detected it as a threat so I deleted my cache, opened Windows Defender and clicked "Remove", Then 2 threats appeared with the status of "Removed" but one of them is still considered as not removed and no matter what I do, I can't get it to dissapear Can't remove threat. 8f965cda-9f0f-40da-b4fa-eff879518dd1?upload=true.png

    WINDOWS DEFENDER IS NOT REMOVING THREATS

    Hello PaulPChou,

    This one works. You're correct I chose removed but it just doesn't remove the threats it says working and after working the threats are still listed. I ran the safety scanner, reboot, scan in safe mode, scan in clean boot but neither of those works to remove
    the listed threats.

    Just as I thought all I need is to manually delete the file where it contains the threats list just like a log file.

    Thanks for providing the path where it stores the list.

    How do I remove quarantined threats

    It does say under 'Quarantined threats' that "Quarantined threats have been isolated and prevented from running on your device. They will be periodically removed". It could just be that by now they have been automatically removed. It's a possibility as your detections were a few days ago on the 5th. My test was less than 24 hours ago so the quarantined file has not (yet) been automatically removed.

    Just reassurance that it's working as designed.

    Can't remove threat.

    Windows Defender isn't removing some of the threats

    Defender notified me about 2 PUA's and I took the suggested action of removing them, but after I click on remove, it doesn't go. It shows that the threats are active. I uninstalled and removed the folder and the files/software which were affected but the
    threats are still there. The threats which I am getting are PUA:Win32/Presenoker and App:Cheat_Engine_BundleInstaller. I need some suggestions on how can I remove those completely.
