Windows 10: cant reset computer, any tips?

ive got an old HP laptop and it gets slow every once in awhile so i always factory reset it. anyways after trying to factory reset it this time, it keeps getting stuck around the 30-40% range and doesnt go any higher does anybody know what i can do? im not very good with computers

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

To assist you better, kindly answer the questions below:

• Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Have you tried updating your Windows 10 computer to its latest update?
• Have you tried to turn off the Get tips, tricks and suggestions as you use Windows
  in the Notification & Actions Settings of your Windows 10 and see if you will still encounter the same issue?
  

If you are not able to turn off that in the Notification & Actions Settings, you can follow the steps below:

• Press the Windows key.
• Type Notifications & Actions.
• Deselect the option Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows.
• Restart your computer.
