Windows 10: Can't Search, Type in Any Windows OS Field, Extreme Lag

Hello,Two things seem to have happened simultaneously mid-last week: I can no longer type in any Windows search field not in Settings, in the Start Menu, Windows Explorer, etc. - though Run works when pulled up with WIN+R, and cannot use the keyboard to open the Lock screen have to click with the mouse. This problem is constant, despite restarts and installing Windows updates. The same time this happened, the computer's overall performance became incredibly odd - intermittently, it's started getting extremely slow and laggy, the mouse cursor started floating, etc. after no discernible ch

Are you unable to just type in this fields or are these fields greyed out?

I would suggest you to first check if install all the latest updates available through Windows updates to make sure that you have all the patches. If you have already done this, then I would suggest try these steps and check if it

Hi, have you tried searching the forum?
And have you tried a restore point, or restored a disk image?
(Hopefully you've picked up ny now how invaluable disk imaging can be, and how often it is recommended so that people can deal with problems without technical help, relatively quickly and painlessly)

This is important, as causes can vary with build.

Have you tried using a System Restore point?
