can't see one of my drives after clean install of Win 10

    All,

I had to do a clean install of Windows 10. Everything is fine except now I can't see one of my hard drives. I pull up File Explorer and drives C, D are there but no E. Is there a way I can fix this?? Before doing this I had 3 hard drives installed (C [main], D, E]

    Craig

    :)

Hi, could you please post a screenshot of Disk Management (or preferably Minitool Partition Wizard or similar if you have that)?

    e.g.
Windows key + X, click Disk Management
To post a screenshot please use the insert image icon to the left of the video icon above your post

Check your missing disk has a drive letter allocated. If not, try assigning one.

Also looks like there are more drives to see in graphic, notice scroll bar on right (not that it would necessarily tell us anything that the text doesn't).

  12. I would say the issue is the one marked as Dynamic. It doesn't have a drive letter and thus won't show up in File explorer. Do you need the files on it? If not repartition and reformate it as a regular volume.

As for the opening of .doc/.docx files, they can contain infected macros, dangerous.

Problems can occur when installing/reinstalling Windows and having more drives than needed actually connected to get Windows up and running, they can always be dealt with later.

  15. I had one internal drive become RAW during an upgrade. It was a while back, don't remember what build it was. I lost what was on it. I had backups anyway. I just had to partition and format it to get full use of it again.
