Windows 10: Can't select bottom part of desktop

Discus and support Can't select bottom part of desktop in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I have a Surface Pro 8 on Windows 11.     Can't select bottom part of desktop


    I have a Surface Pro 8 on Windows 11. As you can see in the image, I can't left click + drag to select everything on the desktop. It stops slightly above the taskbar.It happens when I'm using the device by itself, and it happens if I'm displaying to a second monitor only. Oddly, if I have it set up to extend between both screens, then I can select everything on the Pro 8, but not on the second monitor. Additionally, if I hide the taskbar, then I can go all the way down. It's as if Windows thinks the taskbar is taller than it is. I tried reinstalling the drivers and closing any open program

    Hi Yvonne,

    To resolve your issue with flickering desktop, we suggest that you update your display drivers with the steps listed below:

    • Right-click Start, then select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters to find the name of your device.
    • Right-click the device and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow steps to update display drivers.

    Update us on the result.

    windows 10 deleted my desktop files

    Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

    Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

    copied all files again to desktop.

    Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

    Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

    • Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
    • Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
    • Click on Users, select your User name
    • Go to desktop folder
    Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps to resize the Desktop image and check if it helps.

    • Right click on the Desktop and select the
      Personalize      .
    • Select the Background from the left pane.
    • Under Choose a fit click on the drop down. There you will get a list of options to resize the Desktop image.
