  1. Can't set up child's login because it keeps sending a code to its email.

I am trying to set up my child to login on my laptop and play games. I've had to set up an email address for them to do this I did not want to do this, he's 5 he doesn't need an email accountSo I follow the instructions and set it all up, and it tells me to login to his account to finish. When I go to login to his account it says it has sent a 1 time code I have to type in.I cannot access his email without leaving the page on the device, logging back into my account and going to his email. Which doesn't work because it generates a new code when I go to login on his account again. So do I have

Windows 10 Screen Time setting not working for my child

I had this exact problem and these are the steps I took to get the issue resolved:

    • Navigate to family safety settings and remove the child from the family having issues.
    • Login to the childs account and launch Settings (windows key + i)
    • Click the Accounts icon and select Sign in with local account instead
    • Follow the steps to change to a local account. When completed, Login back to your account (admin account)
    • Go back to the family safety settings and add your child back to the family group.
    • Access your childs email address to accept the family invitation
    • Verify the child now shows properly in the family settings and that the screen times are still correct.
    • Login to the childs account and launch Settings (windows key + i)
    • Click the Accounts icon and select Sign in with microsoft account instead
    • Your family settings should now take affect.

I know this is pretty tedious, but like I said, it worked for me. If you are still having trouble, I suggest contacting support and they can help walk you through the steps to get it resolved.

  3. Child Account 2 factor authentication not sending code

My child's Microsoft account is trying to send him a code. The email option is to my old hotmail account which not longer exists. (moved to outllook). My cell number has the correct last 2 digits and when I enter the full 4 digits it tells me they are unable
to send code to that number. I am stuck with no way to do the authentication. Suggestions on how to receive the code would be great. Thank You.
