Windows 10: Can't set up pin after motherboard replacement and bitlocker

My asus zenbook laptop had a motherboard replacement and now I can't login. After going through bitlocker pin is required to sign in, but is "no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device". Clicking "set up my PIN" doesn't work and only takes me back instantly to the lock screen. Fingerprint and PIN are my only login options, so I can't use password. The bitlocker key is required on every boot, which seems to prevent entering advanced startup. I can connect to the wifi and the laptop remembered the wifi password. Any solutions? My laptop has a dead USB C port. I am getting the motherboard replaced. I was told to remove bitlocker. That is fine I understand that. But they are also asking me to remove PIN and password because after board replacement the PIN and password wont work? does this sound right?

BitLocker encryption is now associated with TPM in the motherboard, and BitLocker cannot be decrypted after replacing the motherboard.

If the motherboard before replacement can still be used, you can temporarily install it back, decrypt the disk after booting the system, and disable BitLocker encryption before replacing the motherboard.

If the motherboard before the replacement is not available, the individual generally does not have the ability to decrypt.

Of course, disks can be formatted and reused
