Windows 10: can't shink parition beyond 202 mb

I was trying to set up a duel boot with 7 and 10 when I got stuck on the shink partition step. I can only shrink my partition 202 mb even though I have 150 gb free (approx).

Windows 10 creator update not working

Further story:

originally i had the efi boot partiion set as a 100 mb partition at the begining of the SSD.

One of the suggestions when the update kept failing was to increse the size of the efi partition, so i increased it to 500 mb.

when i decided to wipe the efi parition, i also decided to wipe the recovery partition as well, leaving only the main c: partition.

when i used diskpart to create a new efi parition, apperently, it put it after the main c: parition, leaving the strange structure presented in original post.

It woud be nice to move the efi parition to the start of the drive, but i don't want to disturb a working configuration.

under windows 10, can i restore the area as recovery paritions without doing an install?

How to extend OS drive volume in Windows 10.?

Here is what I did:

1. Download tool How to extend C drive (system partition) in Windows 10?

2. Move your 499 MB to the end

3. Shink the D: so that you can free space to merge into the C:

4. Now you can extend the C:

 

Your HD is fragmented, you need to run defragger and consolidate all the free spaces before you can shrink it from Windows Disk Management.

Download: Free download Magic Partition Manager Software, partition magic alternative, free partition magic, partition magic Windows 7 and server partition software - Partition Wizard Online. Install, run and follow the screen shot:

 

Partition Wizard boot disk will give you all the space you want since System files are not running and therefore immovable.
