Windows 10: Can't sigin to Microsoft account on new laptop running Windows 11 Home

When I did the initial setup, it would not let me signin to microsoft account. It setup a local account and I set the signin password. This has happened on 2 new laptops that I have purchased. I cannot sign into either of them using my microsoft account.When I go into "change account settings", then "signin with a microsoft account instead", entered email and hit next, entered code that was sent to that email and hit signin, then it asks for my current windows password. I entered the password I setup initially and it keeps giving me an error of "Oops. Something went wrong. Whatever happened, i

Laptop not listed in Devices in Microsoft Account

Hi. When I log into my Microsoft account and check under Devices, I only see 3 out of 4 devices that I use with the account. Listed are two nokia windows phones running win 8.1 and 1 hp stream 11 laptop running windows 10.

My main hp-15 laptop running windows 10 is not listed.

I've tried the steps here:

Add a trusted device to your Microsoft account - Microsoft Support

to make it a trusted device but it doesn't make my hp-15 laptop listed.

Changing administrator for new windows 10 laptop

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

To change the Account type follow the steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on change your account type.
  
• 
  Select standard account.
  

To delete the account follow the steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on Manage other Account.
  
• 
  Select the user account.
  
• 
  Click on Delete the account.
  

To create the new user account follow the steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on Manage other Account.
  
• 
  Click on Add A new user in PC setting.

• How did you installed the game?
  
• What happens when you try to run the game?
  
• Do you use any non-Microsoft anti-virus software?
  

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if the issuer persists:

New User Account

I would also suggest you to create a new user account with administrative rights and check if the issue persists. Creating a new user account will not remove any data, app or settings from your current user account, this is just a troubleshooting step to eliminate the possibility of user profile corruption. Refer this article to create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10
