Windows 10: Can't sign in after updating my user name

I wanted to change my name on my PC. I followed this guide https://www.groovypost.com/howto/change-account-name-windows-10/ After I finished everything I signed out and it boots up like a brand new account with a message saying "We can't sign in to your account. This problem can often be fixed by signing out of your account and then signing back in. If you don't sign out now, any files you create or changes you make will be lost." Did I just lose my account or is there a way to fix this with my updated name?
