Windows 10: can't sign in to my microsoft account through cortana

why this message keeps appearing despite I am 19 years old ?

Cannot sign in to Microsoft Account (Cortana) using Win10

I've just upgraded to Win10, and I am trying to sign into my Microsoft Account in order to use Cortana, however I am caught in a loop and it won't accept my credentials.

The credentials are definitely right, verified by accessing the Microsoft account via https://account.microsoft.com. Also, if I type my credentials incorrectly when trying to sign in on my PC I am told the credentials are wrong - therefore I can be certain that the authentication process is taking place.

Steps are as follows:

• Start
  
• Type "Your Account"
  
• Enter
  
• Scroll down on the Setting window
  
• "Add a Microsoft account"
  
• Enter email and password (for Microsoft account)
  
• Sign in
  

Nothing happens. I am returned to the previous screen and not logged in.

The same is true when I place my cursor in the bottom left hand corner search bar. I am asked to sign in to be able to use Cortana, the dialogues about getting you to sign in just go round in a loop after I've entered my credentials.

I tried your suggestion. I signed out from my current user account and restarted the computer. And you suggested me to sign in to the "Microsoft account". I'm sorry, but how exactly do I do that? Because from my post, I said that I can't
sign in through the "Sign in" button found in activating Cortana(which I can't do coz I need to sign in first my Microsoft account and the button doesn't work still) and through the "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead." button found in the Settings ->
Accounts. I tried them both again so I don't exactly know other ways to sign in. I can only sign in through the internet. I really don't know what's the problem. My laptop was just bought this recently around end of May.

For your suggestion related to Cortana, my settings are already set to United States. I don't have to download language packs to activate Cortana, right? So there.. Please help me find the problem and a solution to it.

Cortana can't connect to Microsoft account

I recently installed Windows 10 on my desktop. About a week after I had started using it, I had to verify my Microsoft and couldn't. Recently I realized this problem was fixed, but now if I try to sign into Cortana I can't. I get a windows saying "Oops
something went wrong". I've tried the steps suggested
here, but it doesn't fix my problem.
