Windows 10: Can't sign in with Microsoft account in the Microsoft store - Windows 10

My problem is that whenever I try and log in to the Microsoft store and other apps on my PC with my Microsoft account I can't and only receive a message that I can't sign into my Microsoft account at the moment, this has been going on for a long time. On one of my apps I get the code 0x8007007e but when I look it up I get it results for completely different problems. Please help anyway

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Yes. When you sign in to the Store with a Microsoft account like in step 5 in Option Two of the tutorial below instead of switching to a Microsoft account you will and stay a local account.

It sounds like you switched your account to sign in to Windows with from a local account to a Microsoft account.


If you wanted to stay signing into Windows with your Microsoft account, you could add a PIN to make it easier to sign in to Windows with, but not affect the password.

If you wanted to stay using a local account to sign in to Windows with, then you can do so and only sign in to the Store with your Microsoft account.

If this is what you wanted, then you would need to switch to a local account again.

Afterwards, you could use in step 5 in Option Two of the tutorial below to sign in to the Store with your Microsoft account, and still sign in to Windows with a local account.
