Windows 10: Can't spend gift card balance

I recently bought $40 worth of gift cards which I got to purchase ibis paint. When I go to checkout, it doesn't let me select the balance. I can only enter a credit card or PayPal account. I already redeemed the gift card in the store so I can't redeem that at checkout. If I had known I couldn't use the credit in my account I would have waited to redeem. Is there a way to fix this problem? I don't want to use my credit card or buy more gift cards since the other $40 would just stay in my account since I don't want to purchase anything else.

I have a £10 windows phone gift card in my wallet (on the phone, not my real wallet), I have bought some things in the store but the balance is still £10. Why?

Hi, I had a £20 gift card when I purchased my Nokia 625. I put it on and only used £1.99. I have had the phone a while now and the balance has always shown as £18.01. When I updated my phone tonight, the balance now says zero. When I try and put the voucher
code in again, it has expired. Can anyone advise please.
