Windows 10: Can't stop Windows from updating on restart, after the update if it works it's so slow as...

A few days ago, I restarted my computer to allow it to install new updates. After the updates were completed, I thought they had bricked my computer. The camera wouldn't turn on for the logon recognition, and when I entered the PIN the whole screen went black. I then went through hours upon hours of trying to undo the update or boot up in safe mode via autorepair. No matter what I did, everytime I rebooted the computer, the updates installed again.Eventually, I walked away after entering in the pin and discovered that after 5-10 minutes it DID logon. But then it takes minutes to open a single

Windows updates won't install!

I had the same problem when i repaired my O/S, i forgot the steps on how to fixed it, but it is in the microsoft support forum.

You have to reinstall the windows updater, then restart the updating service.

Vista x64 won't download updates?

The last updates on my home desktop are dated 16th June.
I've powered it on some 3 or 4 times since then, but nothing was downloaded automatically as per settings.

I tried the manual update from the CP but I get an error code 80070002.

I did the troubleshooting suggested (i.e. stop the Windows Update service, delete the temporary update files, restart the Windows Update service, and then try to check for Windows updates again) but I still keep getting the same error code, even after rebooting *Confused

What gives?
