Windows 10: Can't successfully install HP laserjet via USB on Win 11

This week I had a hard disk crash and had to rebuild my Win 11 computer. I've installed a couple of network printers successfully, but I have a problem with installing my local HP Laserjet 1160 via USB. When I connect the printer and power it on, Windows sees it and automatically adds it as a printer. Almost.It does not seem to install properly as a printer would because right clicking on it shows options which DON'T include setting as a default printer, or properties, etc. The printer also does not even appear as available from any app that I choose to print from.I tried to "Add a printer" bu

Windows 10 Driver for HP LaserJet 4


I tried this after doing a clean install of Windows 10. The list of printers that comes up does not include the Laserjet 4 plus which is the printer I am trying to connect via usb. How do I get that to come up?

 

How to install HP Laserjet 6p in win 10

I also went to HP, but those drivers aren't valid for win 10.

BUT I've found in one of my backup files the word HP Laserjet 6p: prnhp001.inf_amd64_081cf2b90ec9e6d5
Selecting this when installing on the regular way, it installs on the usual way.
Dit cost some time to find this way, but now It works.

 

Install HP LaserJet 4M Plus

Printer is connected to router with EtherNet cable, was able to print test page which gives IP Address of: 10.0.0.81, and did find drivers but attempting to install with any of the LaserJet 4 drivers listed below, gives the error message, "Printer Driver was not installed".

This printer has both Postscript and PCL personalities.

HP LaserJet 4 Plus
HP LaserJet 4/4M Plus PS 300
HP LaserJet 4/4M Plus PS 600
HP LaserJet 4/4M PS
HP LaserJet 4/4M PS (300 dpi)


the USB port mentioned in the 400 day old post on this topic was not a choice.

rig is an i9 7900X running at 4.5GHz w/32 GB Ram with an Asus X299 MOBA.
