Windows 10: Can't transfer digital license to another computer

Hi,I bought a Windows 10 Home digital license from Microsoft a couple of years ago to use through Bootcamp on my iMac"27, 2020 model. Everything worked perfectly fine, but now I'm switching computers to a Macbook Pro 13", 2017 for convenience's sake and am trying to transfer that license to the Macbook now. Firstly, I couldn't remember my product key. The confirmation email I received from Microsoft no longer states the 25 characters. But then I found it through the Registry Editor, and to triple check, through ShowKeyPlus and Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder. But my Windows digital license i

a windows site suggests de-activating a device to transfer the -license' / key - to a new device. Is this true and possible in the case of --transfer digital license-- ???

Transferring a digital license to a new computer will depend on the type of Windows 10 license you have installed on your computer.

Transfer digital license from old PC to New one.

You would have to first ensure the Digital License is linked to your Microsoft Account. See instructions how to do that. You can then use the Troubleshooter on the new computer after installing Windows 10 to restore the license.

Please note, if your license was upgraded from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 7 license, it is not transferable.
