Windows 10: can't transfer or capture video from Canon Elura 70 camcorder to my computer

I finally got a firewire port successfully installed into my HP Z220 Workstation; but now when I connect my Canon Elura 70 Camcorder, my computer says "The drivers for this device are not installed. Code 28 There are no compatible drivers for this device. To find a driver for this device, click update driver."
The manual for the camcorder says "There is no driver for the OS Version you selected [which it says it detected]. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver."
So I do click 'update driver,' and it says "Windows could not find drivers for your device."
I hooked up another camcorder, a Samsung, and the same info comes up - "no compatible drivers available."
I want to use the Canon, and feel so close!, but can't get it to work - any ideas?

Canon ZR600 Camcorder transfer video to Windows 10

I have a Canon ZR600 camcorder that uses the old mini dv tapes. I am trying to transfer to my Windows 10 PC. I have installed a PCI Express card and have the Firewire that came with it. OS says the driver was installed. Nothing happens on the PC when I
connect the camcorder via Firewire. The camcorder screen says "DV-IN" which its supposed to when it is ready to transfer video, but there is no recognition on the PC that a video camera has been attached. Any help? I assume it is a driver issue but the system
says driver is working.

  I couldn't find anything for the case, however, I realized that the PC is recognizing the Camcorder under Devices. Also, I contacted Canon on chat line, they said that it is a complicated issue and requires to call their support by Telephone . This
  will be my next step simultaneously while communicating with you for possible solution
