Windows 10: Can't turn off airplane mode on a Windows 10 desktop PC

I've read all the obsolete text offered here and there...but all is 4 and 5 years old stuff...and a waste of time.


My issue is online gaming. Things like 'World of Tanks', 'World of Warships' and others will not connect. I'm getting things like ' Unable to connect to the update service' or 'unable to connect to content service'. All the while I can do all the normal stuff on the internet like shipping Amazon, Newegg, eBay, YouTube, and the like.


Customer service at these problem game sites are trying to help and 'airplane mode' has came up more than once. I simply have no clue how to find or fix this.


I set up a new computer build with windows 10 already installed but had updated/reinstalled it with the Microsoft retail disc I had. It installed version is 1909 OS Build 182.363.1500. I just don't have a clue about this and maybe its nothing to do this airplane mode business but I sure could use some insight and some sage-advice.

Airplane mode stuck on. On my desktop

I understand the issue that you are currently facing, we will try the best we can to resolve your issue.

I suggest you to follow the steps to disable the Airplane mode.

Step 1: Open Settings, and select or tap on the
Network & Internet icon.

Step 2. Select or tap on Airplane mode on the left side to turn
on or off Airplane mode on the right side.

I also suggest you to run the Internet Connections troubleshooter and check

• Type Troubleshooting in the search box
  and Hit Enter.
• Click View all from the left pane and select Network and Internet and select the Internet connections \Network adapter troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

How to turn on off Airplane mode in windows 10?

Two methods as given in the article as well.

• Open Action Center by clicking the rightmost icon. In the bottom side, a tile of airplane mode would be given. Clicking that would turn it ON and turn it into bright tile.
• Navigate to Settings>Network and Internet and turn Airplane mode ON or OFF.
