Windows 10: Can't uninstall Helvetica Neue Condensed Bold

Recently, I had installed Helvetica Neue from this site: https://fontsgeek.com/helvetica-neue-font. But when I started to install the condensed bold, there was no information on the font, it just said TrueType Outlines; and when I decided to uninstall it, I couldn't find the font file anywhere on Control Panel. I tried many ways to try and uninstall it, but the wouldn't work. Now I'm worried that the font might be on my computer forever.

Deleting Helvetica Neue, Override "Font is in use" Error Message

I'm on Windows 11 x64. For some reason, Chrome has decided to start using a narrow variant of Helvetica Neue as its default font even though I didn't set it as the default. It's not even listed in my Chrome default fonts, so I'm not sure what I could even do there, nor does clicking "Restore default font settings" work from the Font Settings panel (in Windows settings, I mean). Because of that, I am unable to delete Helvetica Neue; instead I get an error message saying that the font is "in use," even when I reboot and don't have Chrome or any other apps open. This is extremely annoying as text is now uncomfortably narrow to read. Is there any way of deleting HN through the registry editor, or is there some other way? Thanks in advance for your help.

 

Odd text size with Google Chrome, not with MS Edge

Things like this drives me crazy. I'll beat my head into a wall until I find an answer. No need for medics, I found an answer to my question. *Wink

I have no idea how to setup a webpage but I played with Inspect trying to understand. Using Inspect on this webpage under Styles I noticed a line that said font-family: inherit. When I used Chrome's Font Changer extension to override to a different font the new font was listed next to font-family instead of "inherit".

When seeing this I did some searches & found it recommended how to find the inherit font would be under Computed which stated / font-family: & listed "Helvetica Neue", arial, sans-serif as fonts. I remembered that I installed Helvetica Neue Bold on my PC long before trying Chrome. And, the font did have a bold look to it. Perhaps Helvetica Neue Normal would've displayed properly but I only had bold installed. After uninstalling Helvetica Neue Bold the font at this website displayed correctly.

I also checked MS Edge & it also listed the same inherit font options as Chrome did. Why it didn't use Helvetica Neue Bold I have no idea. I'm just glad I figured it out. Now I can stop beating my head! *Wink

 

Unable to delete/uninstall a otf

Hi,

I'm trying to install the following fonts in windows10.

Helvetica Light

Helvetica Neue

Helvetica Neue Light

Helvetica Neue Medium

Helvetica Neue Thin

Helvetica Neue Ultra Thin

I installed otf files initially, but all installed fonts were automatically embedded in a single package named Helvetica Neue. Hence, I could find only Helvetica Neue from font list in any editor. Other installed fonts did not show up in the list. But
those fonts were available in Fonts panel (in control panel) inside a folder named Helvetica Neue. So, I tried to delete that folder and reinstall ttf files of same list. I attempted to delete the package but still it shows up in Fonts panel. Look at the
screenshot. Because of this file existence, I'm unable to install new ttf files of same font family. Can you help me successfully install these files?
