Windows 10: Can't unlock/log in to my pc with pin.

"Your password was changed on a different device. You must sign in on this device once with your new password, and then you can sign in with your PIN."So I can't unlock my Device 1 desktop. I know the pin I normally use but I'm not allowed to use it until i use my password on Device 2 laptop. I just today used Device 2 to change my password for 2 microsft accounts.I'm fully able to unlock Device 2 and login to both my microsoft account with microsoft authenticator. I'm unsure which of the two microsoft accounts i used to sign in on Device 1.So I've got full access to Both my microsoft acco

Are you able to login to computer using Pin when you connect computer to Internet?

I suggest you to change the PIN on your computer and check if that helps.

Follow these steps to setup a PIN

• Press the Windows+S key combination to display the Search box.
• Type the word pin into the Search box, then click
  Set up PIN sign-in.
• Find the “PIN” section and click the Add button.
• Type in the password for your User Account, then click the
  Ok button.
• Select and enter a 4 digit numeric pin, then enter it again for confirmation.
• Exit the PIN setup utility.
• From now on you’ll be able to log in to your Windows account by entering your 4 digit PIN instead of your password.

If you want to change the PIN please follow these steps.

• You can change your PIN at any time by following the steps below:
• Press the Windows+S key combination to display the Search box.
• Type the word pin into the Search box, then click Set up PIN sign-in.
• Find the “PIN” section and click the Change button.
• Enter your Windows password, then click the Ok button.
• Select and enter a new 4 digit numeric pin, then enter it again for confirmation.
• Click the Finish button.
• Exit the PIN setup utility.

My windows 8 phone is unlocked from at&t but needs a 4 digit pin from microsoft to unlock it

 

How secure using a 6 digit PIN code to unlock local windows 10 pc?

I've been using a complex password 20 characters long including uppercase, lowercase, digit and special character instead of a PIN code to unlock my local account pc but these days it's become a pain to type it every time actually.

My questions:

• Should I use a 6-digit PIN code to unlock my local account pc?
  
• Would it be as secure as my complex password?
  
• And I wonder if someone stole my pc, would it be easy to break my PIN code?
  
• Does Windows 10 permanently lock my pc?
  
• if someone tries to guess my PIN many times?
  

What do you guys think? I want to easily unlock my pc but security is my top priority.
