    Can't Update and More


    Hi, like a week or so I've started to notice strange behavior of my PC. In short, when I press Sleep the monitor shutdowns but everything else keeps working and then the monitor powers back up, the same goes for the Shut Down. From that day forth I had to force shut down of my PC by holding the button on the case. That's not all, I've also noticed that I can't install new updates 2020-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems KB4571756. After I press Update & Shutdown I see a message after a while "We couldn’t complete the updates. Undoing changes". So, that's my situation this is the first time ever I've seen this.


    FYI, I just wanted to check Windows version of my Windows 10 and went to "System->About", but Settings crash after I press About section, interesting...


    What I tried so far:

    • sfc /scannow
    • Deleting contents of "SoftwareDistribution"
    • Troubleshooting Windows Update nothing was found
    • Scanning my PC with anti-virus nothing was found
    • Some other tool that I can't remember


    Also, I don't know, but I've heard that at some point some USB devices where interfering with updates, I don't know if this has to do something with my Rift S connected.

    Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
