Windows 10: Can't update apps via Microsoft Store

Hi,

I am using a PC running on Windows 10 1909 x64.


Whenever I attempt to download or update apps from Microsoft Store, I get the 0x80070422 code which means that Windows Update is disabled and suggests running a troubleshooter.




Problem is that when I run a troubleshooter it hangs on "Checking for delayed launch" and eventually finds no problems. I tried following guides online, such as restarting Windows Update in services.msc, disabling IPv6 etc but to no avail. It also seems like I can't update to 2004 probably due to that problem.



I also cannot install a standalone Xbox application outside of Microsoft Store due to the same error.

I'm looking forward for the answer. Thanks in advance!

I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store

Since running the troubleshooter for Windows app didn't work, we suggest resetting Windows Store by following the steps below to resolve your issue:

• Type Apps & features on search box/Cortana and click on it.
• Look for Microsoft Store app and click on Advance options.
• Click Reset button and retest.
