Windows 10: Can't update Intel Graphics

My version: Windows 10 pro x64 1909 (OS build 18363.959)

I am trying to install the latest version of the Intel Graphics Driver for 3rd gen version 15.33.50.5129 (I have i7-3770k).
I have one 38 inch, curved monitor, LG 38UC99-W that is connected to a NVIDIA card (GTX660).
But I also need the Intel Graphics to be installed for various programs (Adobe, Edius, etc).

I downloaded the driver from Intel.
Intel's assistant says that my computer is compatible with the above version.
When I install via the installer, it says that it's installed successfully and asks to restart.
After a restart, the Intel doesn't show up in the "Display Adaptors." The Device Manager only shows a yellow error under "Other Devices\Video Controller."

I tried in Safe mode as well. Same thing.

When I try to manually add legacy hardware, I choose display adapters/Intel, and the above version is in the list.
When I click next, it tried to install but stops with an error, saying, "The directory name is invalid." (attached screenshot)

I even used Procmon while manually installing but there were no invalid entries.

I also tried to manually install by using "I have a disk." Same issue.

The event viewer shows this manuall attempt as "information" and says: "Driver Management concluded the process to install driver igdlh64.inf_amd64_756c8daeea5a4d7d for Device Instance ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0162&SUBSYS_D0001458&REV_09\3&11583659&0&10 with the following status: 0x10B."

I then tried to install other, older versions of the Intel Graphics Driver but now I can't seem to install ANY version. I get the same issue as mentioned above.

Googling status 0x10B or "Intel" "Graphics" "The directory name is invalid" did not find solutions.

I am the administrator and used take-ownership software on various folders that contain driver files but it didn't help.

Any advice on how to get the Intel Graphics Driver installed?

Intel Readies P55 Chipset B3 Stepping Update

Intel's is readying a hardware update for its P55 Express chipset, currently the only core-logic for the company's brand new socket LGA-1156 processor platform. The new B3 stepping of the P55 PCH will bring with it a little more than new MM number and S-spec numbers. A list of changes is as follows:

• New MM number and S-spec numbers for the converted products;
• Firmware and minor BIOS updates are required with the conversion;
• Processor MRC/microcode update required to enable future processors;
• Recommended storage driver upgrade from Intel MSM 8.9 to Intel RST 9.5.

Although it is listed that the MRC update enables 'future processors', Intel, in a statement issued to X-bit labs assured that the current B2 stepping of the chipset (found on current socket LGA-1156 motherboards) does not leave out support for any of Intel's new LGA-1156 processors that are slated for release in the very near future. The dual-core "Clarkale" 32 nm processor will be supported by both B2 and B3 steppings of the chipset.

P55 B3 stepping is pin-identical to P55 B2, and hence motherboard vendors will not have to come up with new designs. Sampling of the new stepping began as early as on October 02, 2009, and it is scheduled for shipment to manufacturers by the 7th of December, 2009. P55 is the performance core-logic for the LGA-1156 platform. It supports Core i5 and Core i7 "Lynnfield" processors with discrete graphics.

Unable to detect Intel Graphics 630 drivers

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving the issue. I understand that Intel HD Graphics 630 drivers are not getting detected on your computer.



As you have mentioned that you get an error no compatible device found when trying to update driver, I would suggest you to check if there is any hidden device for Intel HD Graphics 630 in the Device Manager. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + R. This will open
   Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
   
2. In Run dialog box, type devmgmt.msc and hit
   Enter.
   
3. Click on View and click on
   Show hidden devices.
   
4. Go to Display adapters and expand it.
   
5. Now, check if Intel HD Graphics driver is listed as
   greyed out device.
   
6. If you see the Intel HD Graphics driver, right click on the driver and select Update Driver.
   
7. Restart the PC.
   

I would also suggest you to check in BIOS if the option for Integrated Graphics is disabled. If the option is disabled, I would suggest you to enable and check.



Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems
resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.
