Windows 10: Can't update ORIGIN: UpdateTool.exe stopped working

This problem has never occured to me until now even if I already had Windows 10. I recently wiped out the memory from my computer, and when I downloaded Origin it said "An update is needed" the translation isn't perfect because my pc has italian language. The Origin update starts, and then I have to give the authorization for UpdateTool. I click "Yes", but then a popup appears and it says "UpdateTool.exe stopped working". I already tried many solutions coomand prompt, problem solving from Windows etc., and nothing works. Help??

I'm sorry to inform you that your method 2 was unsuccessful.

For printer problem, I already contact HP but it seems that I need to make sure windows update work first.

Back to Method 2, are you sure this method also work for windows 10?

Anyway, I follow those steps and these what I encounter:

• net stop appidsvc: cmd "Application identity service is not started"
• net stop cryptsvc: There was a y/n question. My replay was Y.
• Step 4. In the first tried, I skip the 4th step.
• Step 6. There are several dll that either "failed to load" or "loaded but "entry point DllRegisterServer was not found". I didn't read all the error message, but this are dll that show error message:

• Step 10 i skip this.
• Are you sure step 11 need to be avoided and not step 10?
• I restart my computer, run windows update, no luck. Try those steps again with step 4 included.
• step 4.a. Ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak
  "access denied".
• for step 6, still the same.
• Restart, no luck.

Now, what should I do?

By the way: I already uninstall HP printer driver, but strange enough windows update still show that there are update for the printer. Tried to install, error though.

ZoomBrowser EX - Zb Module has stopped working

I changed from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in July 2016. In Oct. 2016 my ZoomBrowser EX 5.6 stopped working. The message came up: "Zb Module has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify
you if a solution is available."

I finally phoned Canon Customer Care in Canada at 1-866-226-6634. A wonderful lady spent over half an hour with me patiently helping me through the problem and successfully solving the problem. I had tried tips I found on-line which ended up just causing
me further problems. I would suggest going straight to Canon Customer Care and saving yourself a lot of headaches. In my case, I ended up permanently deleting a number of folders.

Basically my problem was solved like this:

1. Uninstalling my version of ZoomBrowser EX (which I had been afraid to do before in case I lost all of my pictures. The lady at Canon told me that the pictures are saved elsewhere on my computer - "Pictures" not on ZoomBrowser)

2. I re-installed ZoomBrowserEX from my disk, choosing Custom Installation and only checking ZoomBrowser EX.

3. I updated it online to version 6.9 (at www.canon.ca and on home page: <Support & Drivers<Consumer & Home Office< Drivers, Software & Manuals - enter your model name, GO). In the box that tells you what operating system you have (mine said Windows 10)
change it to the operating system you had before Windows 10 (mine was Windows 7). Try this before doing step 1 and 2 - you might not have to do those steps.

4. Under ZoomBrowser Ex 6.9.0a Updater, click the red line: zbx-upd-6-9-0a-1u01-e.zip .

5. If you want to use the Canon CameraWindow to download your photos instead of Windows Photos, update it to version 8.10.4.24 by following the steps in #3 above but click the red line under CameraWindow DC 8.10.4a for Windows.
