Discus and support cant update past 20H2 build 19042.1387 in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Tried everything I could find online. Updates never finish. Machine crashes.     cant update past 20H2 build 19042.1387


    Tried everything I could find online. Updates never finish. Machine crashes. Have to back out updates from safe mode. Then of course Microsoft keeps trying to apply updates and keeps crashing my computer. Even tried updating from catalog download.

    I cannot find 20H2 Build 19042.388 (KB4565503)

    This warning is only for Dev channel builds (195xx or 20xxx) and 20H2 is older build 19042.

    You can get 20H2 only doing clean install with released version v2004, build 19041 and set your PC to get previews in Beta channel.

    If you want to stay in Dev channel and get rid of that warning you have to update your system.

    - Go to Settings / Update and check updates or

    - Download build 20175 ISO and use it for in-place update.

    Regarding 2H20 Windows 10 update

    You are getting a bit confused.

    20H2 ==> Build 19042.

    21H1(presumably)==> Build 20246 or later. This is Dev Channel.

    Both are different release branches. Dev channel Insiders got 20H2 ages ago(perhaps never).
