Windows 10: Can't update past version 1909, Error: 0xC1900101 - 0x20017

Tried upgrading windows to 22H2 using media creator, amongst other methods such as:1. running the few lines of codes in terminal to stop services, renaming foldernet stop wuauservnet stop cryptSvcnet stop bitsnet stop msiserverren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.oldren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.oldnet start wuauservnet start cryptSvcnet start bitsnet start msiserver2. using media creator3. troubleshooting4. clean rebooting5. "reset my PC"None of them seem to work and I got the error in attempt 2 media creator, putting in USB."We Couldn't install Windows 100xC

Unable to Upgrade to Windows !0 pro . 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 installtion failed in SAFE_OS phase with an error during boot operations

As i am getting error code 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 but you suggested to refer 0xc1900101-0x40017. Just asking which one is right solution for my
issue ?

I have already tried the steps mentioned for error code 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 but No luck.

I also tried to upgrade through Windows Update but same error.

Anniversary update fails with error 0xC1900101 - 0x20017

I followed the directions C: > Windows > Panther and found the two text files, setuperr dated 9-15-2016 on a failed attempt





Setuperr below, appears ATI drivers are listed at the top. Maybe this is what the troubleshooting page refers to, I'm not uninstalling them. W10 should replace them with MS working drivers if the W10 AU can't handle them. It could be the problem, but it wasn't a problem the first RTM or the November update.

Since the AU is now considered the "paid" version for those that didn't take advantage of the free upgrade W10 may be picky about an install. I'm not doing a clean install, if W10 is now the new "running as a service OS" it should be able to update itself without issue. Meaning any computer running any version of W10 without problems should upgrade without problems.

Thank you for the reply. I read both of those threads already.

1. Resetting BIOS. I flashed BIOS to the latest version. Currently running default settings. No change.

2. Andre da Costa brings up a list of reasons. For error 0xC1900101-0x20017 he says refer to error 0xc000021a.

2a. Regarding his troubleshooting steps for error 0xc000021a. He says to wipe the drive and switch from NTFS to GPT. This is incorrect. If this was true, then no one could update from Windows 7 to Windows 10 without a clean install. Beyond which, I updated
my first desktop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 when it was running Windows 7 on NTFS.

2b. Regarding his additional troubleshooting steps for error 0xC1900101-0x20017. He has a number of suggestions, such as disabling peripherals. I tried all of these for both .iso and USB installs. No luck.

Any other suggestions?
