Windows 10: Can't update Windows 10 1803 to 1909

    Can't update Windows 10 1803 to 1909


    I'm trying to update my Windows 10 1803 to 1909 but keep getting this error:


    0xC1900101 - 0x30018

    The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSREP_SPECIALIZE operation


    This is what I've done:

    1. Update using 1909 ISO

    2. Free up disk space on C:, now I have 30GB free space

    3. Disconnect from the network during update

    4. Set up clean boot

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

    Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

    Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

    Steps to confirm issue:

    • Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
    • Secondary drive not visible in device manager
    • Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

    Steps to replicate issue:

    • Installing 1909 update

    Steps to resolve issue:

    • Uninstall 1909 update

    Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.
