Windows 10: Can't update windows 10, gives error 0x80071ab1, stuck on 20H2.

Hi there, I was given an old laptop from my workplace, and I'm having trouble updating it for personal use. So far I have reset the PC completely, and windows health check says I meet the requirements for windows 11, and I've been installing updates like normal, but I've hit a roadblock. I now try to update, and it seems to work, and when I restart, it says "Unable to install, undoing the changes."Then when I go back to the update window, I get error 0x80071ab1. At this point, every other thread in response to this problem says to install from a media creation tool, which I have tried both

Windows 10 Update 20H2 fails to install (0x8007000d)

Hello!

I'm having trouble installing the Windows 10 Update 20H2 update on a machine. After downloading the update and rebooting the system, I receive a message that the updating process failed and that the update process is going to be reversed.

In the Windows Update window, I can see the error 0x08007000d. I've googled for possible solutions but so far, nothing worked:

• I reset the microsoft store
  
• I stopped various services, renamed (and later even deleted) folders, started services
  
• I ran DISM and SFC
  
• I ran checkdisk
  
• etc.
  

So far, nothing worked and considering that these steps nearly corrupted my system (was stuck in a recovery boot loop and had to recover to an earlier state), I wanted to ask if there are any other (safe) options to get the update to work?

Windows 10 Update Issues (Error Code 0x80071ab1 and CPU Compatibility)

I am facing challenges updating my Windows 10 system from version 21H1 to 22H2, encountering two errors in the process.

1. Attempting the standard update method results in the following error:
   
   "We couldn't complete the updates. Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer."
   
   Error Code: 0x80071ab1
   
2. If i use the windows update assistant, I encounter a CPU compatibility error indicating: "CPU isn't supported (lahf/sahf)." I tried updating it yesterday and it showed that my pc is supported but I had other stuff to do so i decided to do it later (today). But when i tried to update using the assistant today, it gave me that error.
   

My system specs:

• Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6300U CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.50 GHz
  
• Installed RAM: 8.00 GB (7.41 GB usable)
  
• System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
  

I have updated my pc before so im confused why this is happening. Any help would be much appreciated.

 

Windows 20h2 installation stuck at 61% for months

Hi!

I can not get through with the installation of Windows 10 20H2 version. It keeps getting stuck at 61%.

I'm enable to contact support due to the "you are not the owner of the case" issue.

Any suggestion that might help?
