Windows 10: Can't update Windows 10 without updating BIOS, but can't update BIOS without updating...

I've tried updating windows 10, but i keep getting this message that says it wont work without uninstalling the version of BIOS thats on my laptop first. so i looked up my laptop model HP 17-g121wm on hp.com to find the latest BIOS version and tried downloading that, but then i keep getting this message that says windows won't let me download apps outside of windows store without updating windows 10 first. so my laptops in this really weird purgatory right now. i tried talking to 2 customer service reps on the phone, but they didnt seem like they were actually listening to my issue and genuinely trying to help me, cuz they both suggested trying to download it again after id already explained to them that it didnt work and why. it just seems like theyre trying to follow some script rather than deal with my specific issue. so itd be really cool if somebody can help me figure out how i might be able to fix this. is there a way to update bios without updating windows 10 first? or a way to update windows 10 without updating bios first?

BIOS update

i have momo GA-945PL-S3P(rev. 6.6) BIOS version (f4)
when i look in gigabyte website i found f5,f6,f7,f8 BIOS versions for my momo.
do i need to update my BIOS version ?
if i have to update, shall i install the last one (f8 ) or install each one ?
is it risky to update my BIOS version because i have no experience in bois update , is there easy step to update my bois?

 

BIOS update

There is no need to update your BIOS if.....
a. You dont overclock and/or.........
b. Your system is working well and stabily

Should you wish to update (check the change logs on the manufacturers site to see what improvements have ben made to the Bioses, most often they just add new CPU compatitbility however sometimes they do add tweaks/functions), if you do, you can go straight to the most recent, no need to update each one in turn like a game patch.

 

Update bios?

The only time you really need to update the BIOS is if your are having compatibility issues with some hardware you have added to the system, that the release notes for the BIOS version claims it fixes, or for instance you are upgrading to say Windows 8, there's BIOS for all motherboard manufactures when Windows 8 released making the board compatible with Windows 8 after updating.

To me, if the current bios works on the system. Doesn't really need updating. I haven't updated the BIOS on my board since I got it as everything works fine, and stable as can be.
