    Can't upgrade past 1703 even with 2020 upgrade tool


    Hi.


    My computer is stuck with version 1703. Windows Update tell there are no more updates.

    But this is a fairly recent HP notebook.

    I'm using the Windows 10 update tool from

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

    It tries to upgrade to 20h2, but fails.


    If I inspect the C:\$Windows.~ folder, the APPRAISER_HumanReadable.xml shows two issues

    I don't want to wait weeks or months until these issues are resolved.


    How can I force my PC to upgrade at least to version 1909, is there a equivalent tool to upgrade to an earlier version ?

    Just try it through Windows update, you shouldn`t have any issues.

    Excellent question Navy, that`s probabaly why. If not then, as suggested, just use the Media Creation Tool and choose upgrade this PC in Step 3.
