Windows 10: Can't upgrade to windows 11 24H2,graphics card driver is not compatible

Hello,i tried to upgrade to version 24H2,but my graphics card is extremely old and is not compatible with 24H2,it's Nvidia's GTX580, from 2010.The upgrade proceeded normally,but the graphics card driver crashes,so there's no image,when booting into windows.So,i went back to 23H2.I looked at the windows update catalog,but the drivers I found there are for the newer GTX1060 and GTX1080 graphics cards,not for the older GTX580 that I have. The Nvidia driver for the GTX580 is from 2018 and for windows 10, although it works also in windows 11 23H2.But it's not compatible with 24H2,so there is no ima

Graphics card compatibility with W10 upgrade

Thank you for your help Andre. I've done everything you recommend:

• I "uninstalled" NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 integrated display graphics adapter.
• The only display adapter listed in (devmgmt.msc) device manager now is the recently installed ASUS EAH 5450 graphics card.
• The update request on the manufacturer's web site says the display driver is the latest.

However, I still get the message that the NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 display graphics has not been made compatible with W10.

What do you suggest?

I would suggest you to contact the manufacturer and see if the drivers are available for Windows 10.If the drivers are not available you can run the drivers for the graphics card in compatibility mode and see if it helps.

Now, to install in Compatibility Mode, follow these steps:

a. Locate the executable file (.exe file) for the driver installation program.

b. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.

c. In the Package Name Properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.

d. Click to select the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows 8 with which it is compatible with in the Run this program in compatibility mode for list, and then click OK.

e. Double-click the executable file to start the installation program.

Issues with unsuitable graphics card after upgrading to Windows 10

This issue might have occurred due to compatibility problem with the graphics card on Windows 10, try the below and check if it helps.

I suggest you to uninstall the existing display drivers, contact the graphics card Manufacturer's website, search for the latest drivers for the device and install them.

Steps to uninstall the drivers for the Display Adapter.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right on the Display Adapter and click on
  Uninstall.

You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select
  Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.
