Windows 10: Can't use blank CD-ROMs

Hey, I'm trying to burn an image to one of my many blank CD-Rs. When I put one into my DVD reader though, it won't detect a disk. When I put in a CD that's already been written though, it works fine. I tried multiple CDs, with the same result.


DVD reader: USB HP DVD-ROM Reader, model rm475e-H01 1


Neither ImgBurn, windows Explorer, or DiscJuggler detect a disk.


Meanwhile I'll have to try to do my disk operations on my super slow laptop lol

CD-ROM doesn`t work with win 10

This might have occurred due to corrupted\outdated DVD\CD-ROM driver.

Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.

Step 1: Try updating the DVD\CD-ROM drives from device manager.

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• Expand DVD\CD-ROM drives.
• 
  Right click on the driver select
  Update Driver Software.
  
• 
  Restart the computer.
  

Step 2: I suggest you to check and install if there is any latest firmware update for DVD drive from the computer manufacturer.

CD rom

There are numerous reasons for your CD ROM not to be recognized by your system like corrupted registry entries, outdated drivers, or hardware issue. To isolate such issue, we'd like to ask a few questions:

• Are you getting any error messages?

DVD/CD Drive Saying CD-Rom

My Dvd drive is listed in my device manager however it is set as cd rom in the description, it also wont open and is not set as my default drive, any suggestions?

windows 10 if that changes anything
