Windows 10: Can't use DISM, neither SFC. Error Windows resource protection could not perform

Good afternoon.I have a Lenovo Ideapad 330s with windows 10 on a 500gb hard drive+ optane ssd from factory, and one day only gave black screen after windows loaded. It didn't load desktop, neither mouse pointer or command prompt. Booting to Windows Recovery Enviroment and can't enter desktop from Safe modeblack screen, "automatic repair" didn't workedafter 10 minutes, only message that can't find problem and restore system couldn't load any of the 5 restore points that I have made before.Tried with CHKDSK /f and /r, after almost 4 hours, can't detect any problem.Tried DISM and "SFC /sca

sfc windows resource protection could not perform...

Ran sfc /scannow in admin cmd and getting "sfc windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation" error. Already done chkdsk multiple times but still getting the same error. Booted from safe mode as well as from the recovery environment but no success.

Great suggestions! I will just avoid the updates for now and then take care of those afterwards. This way, as you stated, I can hopefully get things fixed more quickly and then just take care of the updates later.

We had storms started moving through again and we lost power so I have to start the download all over again - ugggg..... Hopefully, this time the power stays on and I don't have to try downloading that file again. Won't be able to get to doing the repair with that file until around noon tomorrow since I have an appointment tomorrow morning. Will let you know how things go and I do hope that I don't get the same errors that I did with the first download.

I have downloaded that file again, and just tried right clicking on it, selecting mount and then clicking on the setup file with the same results as yesterday.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I did find the media creation tool for version 1803 - but when I click on it, I just get a screen to install the current media creation tool which is for version 1903. I do have version 1903 as an .iso on my computer but I am not sure I can use that one.

 

Can't get SFC and DISM to work anymore on Win10

Ok, can someone help me out because this crap is starting to piss me off. There was once a time when you could simply run SFC and DISM to check Windows files integrity and if there were any problems found with the local files, Windows repaired it automatically. The reason why I want to run this is because I'm getting stupendously huge amount of errors and warnings in Event Viewer, but I don't want to run refresh because it'll mess up tons of apps.

Commands I used:
sfc /scannow
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Fast forward few years and we now have glorious Windows 10. Trying to run the same tools, they find errors but stubbornly refuse to fix ANYTHING. What's the god damn point of it then?

Sfc finds issues but can't repair them and DISM constantly bitches how it can't find the source. All this used to work directly in Windows 7, but in Win 10, nothing. This was one of the best features to get OS back in good state and they go and ruin it. Because Microsoft!

Nothing worked. And they keep mentioning install.wim where my Windows image downloaded from Microsoft itself! only carries install.esd which I can't seem to use with anything.

I've also tried this tool:

Which again wants .wim file and refuses to work with esd.
