  1. Can't use left alt to type special polish characters

Hello I just reinstalled new windows 11 pro after upgrading my ssd. After doing so i noticed that i can't type special characters using my left alt, which previously was possible. I can still type this characters using right alt or ctrl+left alt. I wonder if there is a way to type this characters using only my left alt as that is what im used to.Thank you

    :)

    Polish characters

I'm working on an Excel spreadsheet and I've changed to the Polish keyboard and used Alt Gr to get all the special characters and they all work fine except ziet - the z with a dot over it. Alt Gr + z gives a strange pop-up window. Any ideas?

  3. ALT Key Codes for Special Characters List

I find it easier to just press the key with 1 on it, instead of Alt+(numpad)49 *Wink

Thanks for posting the information and the portable doc.

Every Windows has Charmap in Start | Windows Accessories. It's great if you need a one time character, but not as convenient as learning the few often typed characters such as the ones Dick mentioned.

If you want to go further with characters, beyond this thread then you should take a peek at Charmap

Special characters on a USB keyboard

I managed to connect a small USB keyboard to my E7, but I've got a problem with special characters. In Polish, there are several special letters - ą, ć, ę, ó, ł, ś, ż and ź. In order to type them you need to press a combination of two keys + e.g. Alt+a
should give an ą. But it doesn't. Instead of ą I get an á, č instead of ć, é instead of ę, ĺ instead of ł, š instead of ś and ô instead of ó, while Alt+z and Alt+x do nothing (these are combinations for ż and ź, respectively). I have both typing and phone
language set to Polish. Is there anyting I can do to type these letters normally?
