Windows 10: Can’t use Start button after installing KB5004945

After installing KB5004945 I can’t use the start button anymore. Also, the taskbar icons are gone taskbar is solid black and when I put my mouse on the taskbar you can see windows is ‘working’ on something. round activity iconI can click on the desktop shorcuts and they seem to work. But I would like to have the start button working again. Any ideas?

Start Button displaying but not working


The start button was working until there was a forced reboot (power failure). Then left click (normal click) over the start button does absolutely nothing. Right click brings up a menu but "programs" and also "settings" are missing and not included on this list. Search or Task View buttons do not work either with "normal" click. Does anyone have any suggestion or fixes?

• When you say "Start button", are you referring to the physical power button or the Start menu on your desktop?
• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• Are you getting an error messages? If yes, what is the exact error message?
• Can you tell us what troubleshooting steps have you done so far to resolve this?
• What happens when you press the Start button?

Insurgency wont install and run for me....

I have played and have fully updated CS and Half life 2....
I am using the newest client and installed the SDK.

I am completely blown away, if i click the desktop icon it starts the sdk and then closes, and it doesn't show up in my game list...

First mod attempt install here, followed the directions step by step on the mods website...

Any ideas?
