    Backstory. I got a "not implemented" error in Outlook. To fix it, I went to Change in Programs and Features, where I was prompted to reinstall. I did. My license key purchased in the MS Store was rejected. What I think happened was I managed to delete my account a few months before, trying to get rid of OneNote. MS said that there was no way to fix it.

    So i bought another copy of Office from a different vendor, because I want all the computers in the house to run Office 2016. The new copy of Office works. I can log into the new account. But I can't verify the account.

    I've spent probably 10 hours at least staring at chat screens, mostly waiting for a response. I get disconnected when they transfer me to Windows Technical Support. This morning I figured out how to get to Windows Technical Support chat directly, but they mostly don't see my end of the chat (20 minutes after entering a description of the problem, I got this: "Hello. I haven't received anything from you. Would you like to still get assistance?" I finally did get instructions on how to "convert the account" Since asking them what the account would be converted to, no response. I still seem to be connected, but a message said that person who was helping me left the chat.

    I can't find a phone number that works. I believe I need to fix this before Office breaks again. This is infuriating--wish I could bill MS for my time. Especially since I was happy enough with XP!

    Remove account

    I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
    To delete an account, follow these steps:
    1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
    2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

    Have you checked that your account is "Verified"?

    I have to re-verify my account each time a new build becomes available, otherwise it will not show up in my update list.
