  1. Capability Access Manager Using Up 2gb of Ram

Yesterday my Windows 11 system crashed after capability access manager service was using many Gb's of ram. After reading up on it I disabled the application. Everything seems fine except my Microphone does not work on applications. This looks like it is a memory leak, and yes I did do the memory diagnostic and it said nothing was wrong. After I restarted the service, I saw that it would start using 8mb of ram and going all the way up to 2,000 which decreases the performance of my games and sometimes crashed my computer. There are two things I am wondering: How to stop the service from using so

    :)

  2. Capability Access Manager preventing sleep

    Hi DMZamora,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In order to get clarity on this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    1. Are you aware of any changes made to this computer prior to the issue?
    2. How did you come to know that Capability Access Manager Service is causing the Sleep Mode issue?

The powercfg /requests command will enumerate application and driver Power Requests. Power Requests prevent the computer from automatically powering off the display or entering a low-power sleep mode.

For more information, you may refer Powercfg
    command-line options
    .

The work of the Capability Access Manager Service is to provide facilities for managing Universal Windows Platform apps access to app capabilities as well as checking an app's access to specific app capabilities and this service may not be related
    to the sleep issue.

Meanwhile, try the below methods and check if this helps.

    Method 1:
    Power Troubleshooter.

I suggest you to run the Power Troubleshooter by going to
Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Run the
    Power Troubleshooter.

    Method 2:
Checking The Status Of The Capability Access Manager Service.

You may want to go to Services and check the status of the
Capability Access Manager Service. If this service is in Starting or Stopping state, then please
restart the computer once and check the status again.

    Method 3:
    Deleting The Power Plans.

You can also delete all the existing power plans and create a new power plan and check if you are facing the same issue.

    Method 4:
Manually Putting The Computer In Sleep Mode.

You can manually put the computer in Sleep Mode by click on the
Power Button and check if you are able to do this. For more information, you may refer
Shut down, sleep, or hibernate your PC.

If you are still facing the same issue, then I suggest you to please elaborate on the issue, so that we can understand the concern and reply to us to help you further.

Give it a shot and let us know of any changes.

    EtwB Utilizing ~2GB of RAM

    Hello,

I am experiencing an issue on my laptop where the Event Tracking for Windows (EtwB) is utilizing an excessive amount of memory. I have attached screenshots of both task manager's memory usage, task manager's list of running programming sorted by working memory, and a list from poolmon.exe showing the excessive memory usage.

Running the machine in Safe Mode, this does not occur. I have also disabled all startup programs and restarted, and the problem still exists. I tried disabling my network devices and closing all open programs, and it still shows over 4GB no matter what, with EtwB always being around that amount in poolmon.

    Here are my system specifications:
    MSI GS65 Stealth
    GTX 1070 Max-Q
    Intel Core i7-8750H
    Intel UHD Graphics 630
    16GB DDR4 SODIMM RAM (2x8GB) @ 2667MHz

Let me know if I can provide anything else to help in figuring this issue out.

Capability Access Manager Using Up 2gb of Ram

    32bit vs 64bit with 2GB of ram

Also, 64bit Windows runs very slow on 2GB of RAM, we suggest 4GB or better to install 64bit Windows.
