Windows 10: Caps Lock Display ON-OFF for MS Sculpt Keyboard

When I press the Caps Lock key, I see very briefly on the lower right of the PC screen a small rectangle with a boxed capital A followed by "Caps Lock: ON" or "Caps Lock: OFF", depending. This is on fully updated Windows 10 64 bit, Microsoft Sculpt keyboard. Very quickly, the small caps lock indicator fades away. There is no indicator light on the key itself. I do have the keyboard center installed. although I don't see right how to reopen the program. I have tried everything in Settings/Ease of Access to no result.


First question: Is there a setting change to prevent the rectangle from fading away?


Second question: Is there another way to get a caps lock indicator, other than suspect freeware?


Third question/complaint: Could MS not design an indicator display that does not involve having to read the small words "ON" or "OFF"? Maybe showing something when it is ON, an not showing it when it is OFF? This is the kind of signal best seen out of the corner of one's eye. I would like an indicator light on the key, I was surprised after purchase to find no such light on this expensive high end keyboard.

The Caps Lock On indicator may have been disabled that's why it doesn't appear on your screen when Caps Lock is on. To have it enabled, follow these steps:

• Right-click on your desktop and click Display Settings.
• Click Advanced display settings.
• Scroll down and click Display adapter properties.
• Click the Screen configurations tab and check the box for
  Enable on-screen display.
• Under Indicator settings for NumLock and CapsLock, look for While the numeric lock or the caps lock is ON section and choose either
  Show the indicator for a few seconds or Always show the indicator on the screen.
• Click Apply, then OK.

When you say that Caps Lock visual display, are you referring to the
caps lock indicator or the caps lock key? Please clarify so we can proceed.

In the meantime, you can also try these steps to enable the Caps Lock sound indicator in your Windows 10 device. Here's how:

1. Please click on the Start button then tap on Settings then click on Ease of Access.

2. On the left navigation bar, click on Keyboard.

3. On your right side, enable Hear a tone when you press Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock under
Toggle Keys.

4. When you activate Caps lock, Num lock and Scroll lock, you'll hear a notification sound.

Windows 10 Caps Lock light


Strangely enough, since updating to 9879, the caps lock light on my keyboard does not work.

I know it may seem small but it is really annoying not knowing when caps is on or not. My keyboard is backlit and the keys light up fine but the light on the capslock key does not.

I'm dualing booting with Windows 8.1 and if I switch back to 8.1, the caps lock button light works fine, so I know the light it self is not the problem.

Any suggestions?
