Windows 10: Case Number 1433771191 - Windows Firewall Error Codes 0x800706d9, 0x8007045b

Platform: Windows 10 Pro, Version 10.0.17134 Build 17134


Windows 10 advises me that the Firewall Settings is not using the default settings. I contacted official Microsoft Support and was given the case number provided in the subject of this message.


The support rep went to a non-Microsoft website http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/win-services/7/ and began to install a .reg file.


QUESTIONS:


1) Is bleepingcomputer.com an official Microsoft website?

2) If not, how do I report the rep?

3) How do I get my Firewall problem repaired?

when I try to install updates I get error code 0x800706d9. when I look up firewall I get a box to update setting. when I press this nothing happens. I tried to enter firewall clicked enter and got error code 0x6D9.

Method 2:

This error is by design. Most users who want to disable the Windows Firewall will use the Windows Firewall wizard and set the firewall to "Off" rather than disabling the Firewall/ICS service directly. When the Windows Firewall/ICS service is stopped you
cannot even launch the Windows Firewall wizard.

Follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Press Windows Key + R for Run.
• Type devmgmt.msc and then Enter.
• Right click on the Windows firewall and then set it to
  Automatic.
