  1. Cast button for PC

I have a Chromecast device which I would prefer to operate from my PC to a backyard room, so it can be used by guests at all times, rather than be dependent on the presence of my Android to initiate Casting.

The Chromecast is now connected via wifi, (set up using Home on my Android), but I am unable to see the Chromecast when scanning for it via the PC. Is this because my PC is Ethernet connected and not 'using' the same wifi network?

Any hints to untangle them so the PC can Cast, and I can get a Cast button to pin to the taskbar? Using latest Chrome version on PC

    Please Help!

  2. No Cast to media device button in menu

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you wish to cast media to device from Microsoft Edge.

    • What build are you working on?
Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.

    • On Microsoft Edge, open the website that contains the media (ex: video, picture, audio) that you want to cast.

    • Click on the More Actions (. . .) at the top right.

    • Click on Cast media to device.

    • Windows will now try to connect to your network and detect your Miracast device.

    • Click on the Miracast or DLNA device you want to cast to.

    • Windows will now connect and cast to your Miracast device.
    Hope it helps.

Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with the issue. We are glad to assist you.

Casting Photos to TV via Chromecast

    Hi Donald,

    Thank you for the reply.

Try the steps listed below to cast Desktop screen:

    • Make sure the Chromecast is connected to the TV and both the devices are On.
    • Expand the Google Cast extension icon and select
      ‘Cast screen/window (experimental)’ option.
    • When prompted to cast entire screen,
      Accept and click on ‘Share’.
    • Open ‘Photos App’ to mirror photos on the PC.

You may search for an app that can cast your media to any
Google Cast device on your favorite search engine, and install it from the Store.

    Regards,

    Cast button for PC

Windows Media Player 12 Not Casting

Hello. I have the same problem as the original poster. I am able to cast individual songs to Marantz receiver, but I cannot cast playlists.

Here are some additional details. I have Windows 10 and WMP12.

To cast a song in WMP12 I do the following:

    1. right click song

    2. select "Cast to Device"

    3. select Marantz receiver (I have other device which also appear on list of options to cast to)

When I right click a playlist, and select "Cast to Device", the only option that comes up is "Cast to Device". In other words, "cast to device" appears a second time, none of my devices appear as in step 3 above when only trying to cast an individual song.

I also, after applying the suggest resolutions noted in the posts above, I tried creating a new test playlist, but I couldn't cast that playlist either.

Are there any additional steps I can take to resolve this?

    Thank you.
