Windows 10: Cat 6 ethernet connection not improving my ping or download speed on my pc.

I recently installed a new cat 6 ethernet cord and it didn't resolve my lag spikes issues, it didn't improve download or upload speeds at all,and my ping didn't decrease one bit I hope I could resolve this issue.

Connection speed on Ethernet Cat 6

Connection speed used to read at least 80 . However, we hadn't checked it in some time. Got notice that provider had increased our speed. When I checked my (8.1) was getting about 19. Had provider come out and they ended up changing out to their modem.
Still hasn't improved much. We are getting more than above mentioned on another computer (newer) running Windows 10. Provider didn't seem to be very concerned that we are not getting good connections. Both computers are hardwired. We are not "computer
savvy". Is there a setting that needs to be changed or something?

They said they checked all outside connections and signals through their "checks".

 

Ethernet Speeds Slow!

The Ethernet cable length maximum is 100 Meters or just over 300 Feet computer to Router. The network parts are rated at 10/100 or 10/100/1000 Kbps/Kilo bits per second. Unless a CAT 5 cable is really old it may be able to carry the Gigabit [1000Kbps] speeds. It's also important that the Router and the Network adapter in the computer be rated the same. If you have an opportunity to borrow a different cable try a CAT 5e or CAT 6, may give better speeds.

I have a 5Mbps service and when I see a much higher Upload speed than for Download and have reset both the Router and the Modem [or combination] I then get the ISP involved, frequently is a problem on their end.

 

Ethernet Link Speed at 10 Mbps

Hello, I have been having some slow ethernet. I went through the settings and in the properties for mt connection it says the link speed (transmit/receive) is at 10/10 Mbps. When I try wifi its capped at 520 Mbps but its very unstable most of the time, so I want to use ethernet. Here is some information about my situation:

• Using a Cat.6 Cable
  
• Tried reinstalling ethernet drivers
  
• I tried resetting the network through the settings

I would really appreciate additional ideas on how to fix this problem.
