Windows 10: Catastrophic Windows 10 update Nov 5th 2019 !

This is what happened to me on the morning of wednesday November 6th :


- On the evening of Nov 5th I left my laptop in sleep mode

- This morning I clicked the mouse to wake the laptop up, and got an empty screen like when you first login to Windows

- All my files were gone, all store-apps and other user-profile installed apps were gone

- My profile has disappeared, the old one only contained an empty OneDrive folder

- However, all useless bloatware was installed again ! (Candy-Crush and other junk)

- All settings were reset to default

- My user-account seems to have a new SID

It seems that Microsoft has pushed an undesired update during the night without any warning !

So this "update" deleted my whole User-Profile, including all corresponding Registry entries.

I do have many essential files, pictures etc on a USB, but not more recent stuff (I had to block One Drive some time ago because Microsoft was wanting to be paid to extend it...)

If Microsoft had warned me, I could have easily made a complete back-up.

I'm now going to have to spend hours to reinstall and reconfigure apps, files and programms.


Thanks to who ? Microsoft is a real dictatorship.


Oh, BTW I did try calling Microsoft customer support. But after 4 minutes of pressing 1's and 2's to get through the selection maze, it finally proposed pay assistance, then hung up on me :-(

Office 2019

Only supported on Win10. Sorry, 8.1 users, only 4 years old, gotta go.

• Office 2019 will ship in H2 of 2018. Previews of the new apps and servers will start shipping in the second quarter of 2018.
• Office 2019 apps will be supported on:
  • Any supported Windows 10 SAC release
  • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2018
  • The next LTSC release of Windows Server
• The Office 2019 client apps will be released with Click-to-Run installation technology only. We will not provide MSI as a deployment methodology for Office 2019 clients. We will continue to provide MSI for Office Server products.

 

May 2019 Update Catastrophe

ANY HELP COMMENTS ???

To Whom it may Concern,

I am running Windows 10: Lic #**** on a new MSI AMD MB, NVME HD, AMD RYZEN 5 CPU, w/ 8G RAM.

On Oct 12 2019 your company FORCED the May 2019 to Update my computer, which corrupted the entire version of Windows 10, I was running. This also caused me to lose valuable personal data.

The Update caused a blue screen ocxoooo21a / error, that I spent hours trying to repair using every suggestion I could find, including going into the command prompt trying to repair the boot sector to no avail.

I am POSITIVE YOUR UPDATE CAUSED the malfunction because when I reloaded Windows and re-updated with the MAY 2019 update it did the same thing.

Is there any safe way to upgrade to 1903 ? Right now I have all my Updates blocked .

There isn’t a business on earth that can get away with this kind of behavior, do you have any viable answer for me, any solution to this disastrous policy at all ???
