    Catch 22 - Need a Microsoft PIN to get a Microsoft PIN


    Bought a new laptop. Several programs OneNote for Win10 for example won't work for me on the laptop, demanding I sign in with a Microsoft PIN. I have never had one! Can't set up a PIN w/o entering my current non-existent PIN! How do I get around this?

    We appreciate the screenshot that you provided. to start troubleshooting the issue with you logins, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how login pin goes back to password:

    • Click Start menu and go to Settings.
    • In Settings, click the Accounts icon.
    • Click on Sign-in options.
    • Change both your password and pin one by one.
    Let us know how it goes.

    PIN sign in for Microsoft Account

    I am using the Microsoft account page under family members. In this section where it shows my Grand Daughters Account details there is no option to have a Pin Code, However on my page, as Administrator, I can create a Pin.
