    CCleaner auto-edits Windows Registry

I created a .reg file to disable all the CCleaner bloatware. The problem is that the software is able to auto-edit the registry back to its original values after a while, even if I blocked it from accessing the internet in Windows Firewall. How is it possible?

    :)

  2. Registry editing

    Hello,

This issue may have occurred after one of the following situations:

    • You upgrade the Windows operating system.
    • You install or uninstall CD or DVD recording programs.
    • You uninstall Microsoft Digital Image.

Given that, we suggest performing the methods in this article:
Your CD or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs
    .
The resolutions that are listed in that article may help solve some instances but not all instances of this problem.

Important:This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow
these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base
    article.

Feel free to update us with the results.

    Editing the registry

I'm with f14tomcat, leave the registry alone unless you know specifically what you're doing. I'm also not a fan of CCleaner and never recommend it. That said, if one must use it learn know what it does and how to use it.

Many recommend CCleaner without being able to explain how to use it, or knowing whether an OP knows anything about it. Anyway, if one is going to mess with the registry know how to back it up "before" tinkering.

Registry Editing on Omnia 2 - Windows 6.5

I'm wanting to edit the registry in my Omnia 2 phone (Windows Mobile 6.5) to enable auto - rotate. I have the steps to do this but wanted some specifics on the following:

    1) How to create a backup copy of the registry and where to store it.

    2) How to use the backup copy in case the edit is unsuccessful.
