Windows 10: CCleaner question

I finally took the free upgrade today and I ran the CCleaner free program and the registry scan came up with a ton of errors. Should I clean them all and use the save the file feature? or just leave it alone? Thanks! *Smile

To be honest CCleaner found them, have you contacted CCleaner support to assist in your question!!!!!!

Why not let CCleaner remove them?

Guess this might help:

Do you use CCleaner?

If so: The default CCleaner settings are deleting the log that tells Windows Defender when it did the last scan, and this would then result in a notification such as Windows Defender needs to scan your computer.

Try unchecking Windows Defender in CCleaner.

 

Anwser yes to save a backup then clean.




Test for a while. If broken then you can restore it.

 

CCleaner is a VERY mild registry cleaner also. Chances of it messing up something is VERY rare.

You need to go through all the options the program has to offer as there are likely some options that you don't want the program to clean.

For example, for browsers I only have internet cache ticked and compact database (where applicable).
I turn off all the options relating to Explorer as I don't want those cleaned.

For the registry cleaner I usually have unused file extensions, obsolete software and run at startup unticked. I'd rather be the charge of whats obsolete.

I've been using ccleaner for years and have never once had an issue with it.

Same here with no issues using ccleaner registry, but always do a backup first.
