Windows 10: Ccleaner updates

I saw where a new version of C Cleaner has been released. My C Cleaner (free version) is set to automatically check for updates. Will I be updated to the current version, or do I need to download the new version?

CCleaner and the November update

I recently updated Windows 10 from build 10249 to 10586. The update removed my third-party utility, CCleaner, (and along with it some personal files relating to CCleaner), claiming that it was "incompatible" with Windows 10. It turns out that CCleaner works
just fine with Windows, and "incompatible" is used pretty loosely.

What happens is that the update replaces Windows files and puts all of the replaced files in a folder labeled Windows.old. Then if you ever want to rollback to the previous version, Windows can replace these files. However, the detailed instructions for
doing the replacement (which file goes where) are contained in some Windows system log files, and CCleaner normally cleans out these files when it runs. You can change this in CCleaner easily by just unchecking the box to clean Windows system log files. Then
everything is "compatible."

Malwarebytes Forums say?

 

If you have it set to auto check it will prompt you to update, which takes you to the Piriform site. If not auto, click bottom right corner "check for updates" and it will take you to the site. Either way, you have to go to the site (gives them a chance to "encourage" you to get the paid version). You will have to download it and install it. It will not change your settings. Thanks...appreciated. Does the new version include new features, or just improvements, fixes, etc?

 

Usually just small changes, you could use the same version like forever, it would still work.

CCleaner - Version History

 

The first 2 in changes to 5.15 are important. As browsers update versions and add/delete/change things, apps like CCleaner need to adjust. That's what they did.
