  3. CD recognition on drive D.

    Hello,

There are various reasons why a CD or DVD drive is not detected. As an initial troubleshooting step,
I suggest that you use the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. To open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter, follow these steps:

    • Press the Windows logo key + R to open the Run dialog box.
    • Type control in the Run dialog box, then press Enter.
    • In the Search box in Control Panel, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting.
    • Under the Hardware and Sound item, click Configure a device. If you are prompted to enter an administrator password or provide confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Let me know how it goes.

    CD Rom Drive D

    Hi Dianne,

There can be different possible reasons why your computer fails to load both CDs. We can also consider that this is a hardware or driver issue.

For us to further identify the exact cause of this concern, kindly provide us with the following information:

    • Does it happen on other CDs or DVDs?
    • Were you able to load these CDs before?
    • Have you made any changes to your device prior to this issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

We look forward to your response.
