Windows 10: CD/DvD drive opening on its own

    DVD drive door opens on its own

    Hi!

    I found three trouble shoots for CD/DVD ROMs.

    To rule out software issue boot into safe mode. If drawer does not open, have to find the software (app) that causes the drawer to open. Could be malware.

    Hardware, ROM is malfunctioning. Button is stuck, cables loose, ROM has seen better days time to replace.

    The third trouble shoot is to change drive letter. Search not clear on what the trouble is if changing drive letter fixes issue.

    DVD drive door opens on its own

    Using Win 10 for about 2 weeks now. 3 times in past week DVD drive door opens without any user input. There is no DVD in drive. Anyone no why?
