    CD/DVD says;"please insert disk" in windows 10.


    Can not use CD/DVD Device, no autoplay, when asked for disk E the disk will be ejected.
    How to make it work?

    the cd/dvd drive does not work

    When I push the button to open the cd/dvd drive it opens, every troubleshoot says there is no problem, but the disk does not spin, and the app associated with the disk just says "Please Insert Disk"... Under Explorer, It says DVD DRIVE L, says everything
    is fine, when you hit eject though, nothing...

    Yes, similar issue. I'm not sure if it's the app or the driver associated with the DVD/CD device. The device is an hp DVDRAM GT20L with MS CD/ROM driver version 10.0.14393.0. I insert a DVD, the app opens, says "To play something, insert a DVD." The
    app then closes with no message, no ejecting the disk, nothing.

    Try this Microsoft FixIt https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/314060
    If this fails, chances are that the Laser Diodes that read the discs has died. You will need to replace the drive. You can find replacements on Amazon or Ebay.
