Windows 10: CD slot is making noise without CD in pc

Hello,


The CD slot of my pc makes some disturbing noise, sounds like 'tick, tick', but there is no CD inserted. I tried burning some CDs before. What can I do to remove the noise?

CD drive makes strange noise?

Hi my CD drive make a strange noise like it is scratching the CD please help.

 

CD drive makes a loud spinning noise whenever I insert a CD and won't read the disc

Whenever I insert in a CD it makes this really loud jarring noise. Opening the CD drive while it makes that noise I can see the CD spinning really fast. Important note: none of the cds I am needing to put in are scratched or have any issues; it can play
in my car just fine. The strange thing is, one of my cds is able to be read, and it doesn't make noise whenever I put it in. I just don't understand why the computer is selective in what it can read or not.

When you copy music, pictures, and videos from your PC to a blank CD or DVD, it's called "burning." When you copy music, pictures, and videos from a CD or DVD to your PC, it's called "ripping." You can use Windows Media Player to do both. May we know what
type of file are you copying?

If in any case you need to make multiple copies of a CD, there are downloadable 3rd party applications that can perform such operation with ease.

To copy a CD with only one DVD drive, kindly follow these steps:

• Insert the CD you want to copy into the DVD drive.
• Create a location folder and copy the contents of the CD to the folder.
• Remove the CD from the DVD drive.
• Insert the blank CD, and then burn the contents of the folder into the new CD.
